What To Do – iPhone Hung

Your iPhone suddenly hung….display permanently turned on …none of the buttons work…& you don’t know what to do?
Try this it might work:

  1. Don’t be panic :D. That’s a very important thing.
  2. Hold Power Off button ( black button on top right hand side ) & Home Button ( Big O Shaped – below screen ) for around 10-15 seconds. Your phone should switch off.
  3. Leave iPhone in that condition & wait for battery to drain. Then start charging it & after reboot it should work fine.

If above options doesn’t work, find nearby Apple store & curse your jerkness in hacking iPhone. 😐

Thanks for the tip. Worked just as described.

One note though – I won’t be “cursing my jerkyness”. My iphone was an unmodified 3g iphone running the latest version of the software from Apple.

I clicked on a link in an email accidentally and hit home button as soon as Safari started launching. This hung up my phone. It has happened before so I thought I should restart the phone. In what was a rude shock, when I slid the pointer across to shut down, the phone got stuck with the slider at the other end of the tunnel!
I hit all the buttons but to no avail. I called up the cell from another number, and the
phone picked up on it, only I couldn’t answer. Realized that the phone hardware is probably separate. Anyways your tip helped. Thanks!
